About the Destination
Located in the western part of the Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep), the Laxmanpur beach is about 2.6 km from the Neil Island jetty. The beach is characterized by white sands and crystal clear waters. The amalgamation of the variance of colours makes it more majestic to look at.
Adding to the beauty is the lush greenery of the tall trees and the dense tropical forests. The sandy beach is almost free from hard rock, shells and corals. Thus walking barefoot on the soft sandy beach is an activity that you should try. There are no water activities available on this beach. How to Reach the Laxmanpur Beach
- Cabs
You can book a cab from near the jetty to reach the beach. However since the Neil island is small in size and has very few tourist spots, we suggest you book a cab and travel to all the beaches on the same day. - Buses
Buses are generally preferred by the local people and by tourists who are on a strict budget. Although the buses run regularly on this route, there are not many available. Also, this is not a comfortable journey. Before booking the tickets, make sure to esquire about the timings and the availability.
- Auto-Rickshaws
Auto-rickshaws are also a great means of transport to the beach. The rates may vary among the drivers. Thus it is highly suggested that you negotiate the prices and also book your return journey.
- Two-wheeler on Rent
You can easily book a two-wheeler from the providers near the jetty. These are charged on an hourly basis. Be sure to carry or avail a map from the provider in case you get confused. There are no parking charges at the beach and the road leading to your destination is also easy to navigate.Â

- Bharatpur Beach
Located close to the Neil Island jetty, at about 500 m, Bharatpur Beach is a wonderful location for an evening of fun with your family and friends. The beach is characterized by crystal clear waters and sandy white lining along the shore. Due to the extremely low currents and shallow waters, the beach is a fantastic spot for swimming.
