Ramnagar Beach

The Ramnagar Beach is a glamorous beach situated in Diglipur – the largest town in North Andaman Island. Among the other picturesque destinations that Andaman Tourism offers the travellers, a visit to the Ramnagar beach is an escapade worth indulging in.

About the Destination

The Ramnagar Beach, often called beach No.3 in Diglipur has to be one the calmest places on the Andamans. It covers the nearby Ramnagar Village and like the other beaches of Andaman, it has got sands glowing with a yellowish hue, clear blue seawater that holds wondrous life forms, and such other natural beauties.

The beach is well known for its serene ambience. You won’t notice as many tourists here, which makes it a perfect place for those who prefer privacy. The tranquillity of the surroundings and the eco-friendly huts and seats are a boon for travellers. These make the Ramnagar Beach an ideal relaxing spot.

The presence of strong currents and sharp corals make swimming a bit difficult here if you are not experienced. You can also enjoy snorkelling at the beach and observe the diverse and colourful aquatic life and live corals from as close as possible.

To expand the horizons of your adventure, walk along the trail of the Tropical Forest that is quite close to the beach. Enjoy the taste of wilderness. You can also avail our famous Andaman Tour Package from Mumbai for a better experience.

When you are in Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep), don’t forget to include Ramnagar Beach in your travel itinerary. It stretches all over Ramnagar Village and has sharp corals that make it a bit tough to swim in at several points. The most sought-after sea access points are at the Blue Sea Restaurant and the pathway just across Deep Sea Resort on the main road. This beach has crystal clear water, calm sea, and clean sand. There is a lot of shade from the trees and thus, it is a good spot for relaxing and reading your favorite book.

Every year, people from all over the world get attracted to the pristine beauty and untouched sandy beaches of Andaman Island. It has some of the most scenic spots for travel and nature lovers. This archipelago is visited by travellers to uncover and explore its jewels. The entire island is amazingly striking but there is one place that nature lovers and beach bums never miss- Neil Island. It is located at a distance of 30 kilometers from the main islands of Andaman, and is known for some of the most unique sights. If Andaman Island is a crown, then Neil Island is its most precious gem! Nothing can beat this island in Andamans when it comes to surreal beauty. It would be the best place for your island vacation.

On the other hand, if you choose to simply relax and spend time idly, certain amenities can assist you in your travel fancies. These include Eco-friendly huts, sofas and other sitting spots.

One of the special attractions of the beach is turtle nesting. But to enjoy this, you are going to have to spend an entire day. Watching the Olive riddle turtles securing a place on the beach to lay their eggs is surely a sight to behold.

But this occurs only in the months of December to February, so make sure you consult your Andaman Tour Operator beforehand to avoid missing it.

Highlight

Ramnagar Beach is a good location for snorkeling as it has great visibility and rich marine life along the S shaped coral reef. If you want to reach the best points with live corals, then you have to swim further into the ocean. It is an ideal spot for experienced swimmers as the waves on the reef often get big and the currents get strong. If you are someone who is seeking some privacy, then Ramnagar Beach is a great spot as it is completely deserted most of the time. The views of sunset and sunrise from here are amazingly beautiful.
