Andaman Monsoon Tourism Festival 2024

A 2-day Monsoon Tourism Festival was organized by the Directorate of IP & T at the Carbyn’s Cove Beach which was engaging by islanders as well as the tourists. It was organized by the Tourism Department in association with the Arts & Culture Department. The festival was organized aiming to promote A & N Islands as a year round destination. This event was held on 13th-14th July, 2024 which was witnessed by numerous people actively taking part in all the activities.

Various outdoor activities were held at Carby’s Cove Beach which included Tug of War, Beachside Volleyball. Not only these but water sports were also under their list like Kayaking, Jet Skiing which made people’s adrenaline rush during these adventurous rides & enjoyed by all. To encourage general public & tourists of various places the officers of A & N Administration also were engaged with a friendly beach volleyball match amidst cheers from the lookers. The Chief Secretary of A & N Administration, Mr. Keshav Chandra was seen participating in the event. Final matches of Tug of War & Beachside Volleyball were played yesterday & results were out yesterday itself.

A music & dance show was also held at the 2 days festival which was at Marina Park. A large crowd was there to cheer the artists who were performing. Cultural events were performed by various artists & dance performances were enjoyed by the audience.  While the event was about to end as it was the weekend many of these people came to get entertained & it was a huge applause for all the artists. The program featured a diverse range of programmes including folk dance of Assam by TGCE & Tamil Nadu folk dance by students of Model School besides folk dance ofWest Bengal, UP focusing on rain theme by students of Girls School, and stunning display of talents by various cultural groups through their stupendous performances .Bollywood songs by Arpan Music Academy, and flute performance by Unity Orchestra also formed part of the evening.A Lavani Dance was also performed by the children of Seva Niketan where crowd had swayed themselves with the performances.

At the Carbyn’s Cove Beach there were vendors who set up their stalls selling smoking hot delicious savories to cater to the visitors  taste bud ranging from fresh seafood to mouth watering desserts. The waft of aroma emanating from the freshly made food/ savories offered a whole new experience of gastronomy, drawing foodies to the counters.
