Jolly Buoy Island is one of the most amazing islands in the Andaman’s and a perfect getaway from the crowded Port Blair. The beaches are pristine and the waters crystal blue making it perfect to spot the colorful corals and the diverse marine life.
Whether you are seal walking or scuba diving, you are sure to spot some interesting fish and corals.
Boats with glass bottom are also available for hire for coral safari. But apart from that, the place is a nature lover’s paradise as there is nothing much to do.
You will get non-AC ferries and boats that leave from Port Blair and make a day’s journey to Jolly Buoy Island.
The area is a no man’s land and you have to come back by 2.30 pm when the last boat leaves the island. No one is allowed to stay on the island beyond that. Ferries take around 1 hour 30 minutes to reach the island from Port Blair.

You have to get your permit one day in advance otherwise you are going to miss the ferry which leaves in the morning.
The permit can be arranged by standing in long queues at the Andaman Tourism office in Port Blair after which you have to again wait in line for your tickets. The best way to avoid all troubles is to let Andaman Emerald Holiday arrange your permit and tickets.

You cannot carry any plastic item to Jolly Buoy Island and that includes any plastic bags or water bottles. You have to deposit all plastic items before you board the ferry with caution money which is returned when you get back your possessions.
The Andaman Tourism Department will arrange drinking water carrying option for a deposit of Rs 50 which is returned when you give back the container. Also, please refrain from littering or throwing things in the island and try to keep the place clean.
The boats for Jolly Buoy Island leave from Wandoor beach at 8.30 am and 9.30 am. You will have to go and come back by the same ferry after spending some time on the island unless you book a private boat.
Ferries for Jolly Buoy Island leave from Wandoor beach in Mahatma Gandhi National Park. The place is around 30 kms from Port Blair and our transfer vehicle will comfortably drop you there.
The fare for each person is Rs 1,000 only.

You should reach Wandoor beach by 8 in the morning if you are planning to catch the 8:30 am ferry. It is always best to come half hour earlier than your ferry timing to make things easy for you and the staff.
