Speed Boat from Diglipur to Ross Island and Smith Island
Diglipur may be a less traveled destination, but it is one of the best places to be in the Andamans. The island has some of the most beautiful beaches in North Andaman like Ramnagar beach and Lamiya Bay beach. It takes around 12 hours by road to cover the distance of 325 kms from Port Blair to Diglipur.
From Diglipur you can take a speed boat to Ross and Smith Island. The twin islands of Ross and Smith is connected by a natural sand bar which is around 1 km long. The bar is visible and accessible only during low tides when you can walk over from one island to another.
The islands are gifted with nature’s bounty- crystal blue water, virgin beaches, tropical forests, nature trails, quaint villages and historic ruins. Ross Island also used to be the former capital of Andamans and some signs are still visible on the island.
Speed Boat Ride to Ross and Smith Island
The boats start from Aerial Bay Jetty in Diglipur. It takes around 20 minutes to reach Smith Island. You need to pay a charge of Rs 75 to enter the Smith Island.

Boats from Aerial Bay Jetty leave for Ross and Smith Island by 8:30 am. They come back around 2 pm after completing the exploration to Diglipur.

You have the option of booking an entire boat or travel on sharing basis. The charge per person on sharing basis is Rs 500.
