Emergency Assistance Booths (SOS Kiosks) are available at Rajeev Gandhi Water Sports Complex, Corbyn’s Cove, Baratang, Havelock and Neil. You can seek their help for information and guidance.

• Look out for red signs and areas restricted for swimming. Swim in the safe zone and don’t venture out of the marked area. Also remain in the visibility of the lifeguards so that they can help you in case of trouble.
• Read the safety advice posted on the signs at different tourist locations. Follow the rules to avoid any potential danger.
• Ask the lifeguards or local people for advice.
• Refrain from swimming alone. It is always better to swim in groups so that help can be obtained immediately.
• Raise your hands and shout for help in case you are in danger. You can also dial 100 for police and 102 for the ambulance.
• Get the right attire for swimming.
• Don’t let children loiter away.
• Drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated.

• Don’t throw garbage everywhere. Use dustbins and keep the islands clean.
• Always wear safety gears like a life jacket during boating and indulging in water sports activities.
• Don’t put out arms or legs out of the boat or ferry.
• Don’t swim under the influence of intoxication.
• Shiny objects and jewelry resemble small fish and can attract predatory fishes. Avoid wearing such items while in water.
• Don’t board a boat that is filled beyond capacity.
• Approach TSET if you find the boat operator under the influence of intoxication.
